We are so lucky to have so many beautiful locations close to photograph. The St.Anthony Sand Dunes is such a place. 10,600 acres of quartz sand in rolling hills it makes the perfect backdrop for romance and softness, and the closest we will get to a beach feeling here in Idaho. It’s popular with those that like to off road.
Love stories usually turn into baby stories. And I love this session that we did with Jennifer at the St. Anthony Sand Dunes. She bought the most beautiful flowy dresses from Amazon and we had a fun with the water and the movement of the fabric. There are a few suggestions I have for maternity photos. Usually try to get them around 32-37 weeks pregnant. This is usually where you have a good bump but you aren’t in that super uncomfortable stage (I know, I remember!) Have a few outfits picked out. Adding variety through the outfit and the background adds to the overall gallery of final images. Pick a place that is significant and important to you. It can be a place in your hometown, or a place that has special meaning to your family. Jennifer and her husband met at the St. Anthony Sand Dunes on a blind date. They are not from the area and they made a special trip for the weekend to capture this special time in their lives at a place where their lives together started. I love dresses for maternity images. They are flattering and the shape is so beautiful. Maternity photos are such a special memory. I didn’t get maternity photos done until my third child (my last.) And I regret it. I wish that I had a professional photo for each of my baby bumps. Jennifer killed it in her red dress. Which is my last point wear your signature color.
