Fall is a tricky season. It can be warm and beautiful, and cold and beautiful. And when you live in Idaho, snow can pop up anytime and dump down. I was so glad that after a big snowstorm we were able to still find some beautiful fall colors and light for Amparo and Omar’s engagement session up at Kelly Canyon. Kelly Canyon is one of my favorite places to shoot. It’s close to Heise Hot Springs and 30 minutes from Idaho Falls, with mountain views and a variety of trees. If I find myself in a funk, I can count on a drive to Kelly’s making me feel a bit better. And its a wonderful place to check out the fall colors.
Amparo and Omar’s love
When I asked Amparo about their love she told me that they kinda of just knew. They knew that they were met for each other right when they started dating and would get married. I felt the same way with my husband! I always explain it as a “duh” feeling. They were friends for awhile before they started dating. Omar modestly told me that he proposed at a car show. And boy, once I got home and check out his car on instagram: he is talented! I don’t know anything about cars but its shiny and looks really fast. And I’m impressed that he built it all himself.
But I do know about chemistry. And these two are so fun, sweet, and in love. They laughed and smiled privately and I just watched and took pictures while they showed me how excited they were to be together. Those are my favorite kind of sessions. They are getting married in April and I’ve done another wedding for Amparo’s family. I KNOW that its going to be a party with lot of dancing and fun games!! I’m so excited!
“Love is a mystery. We embrace it where we can. Mostly we do not choose whom we love. It just happens. A voice speaks to us, in ways the ears cannot hear. We recognize a beauty the eye does not see. We experience a change in our hearts that no voice can describe.”―
