Spring LDS Rexburg Temple Wedding
Spring in Idaho has no delicately, consistently, or predicability. Mallory, Stephen, and I discovered this while doing their formal session before their spring wedding at the LDS Rexburg Temple. Winter and Spring, especially, are very unpredictable and difficult to take photos. I always highly recommend doing a formal or bridal session before the wedding day so that we have plenty of time to get those wedding details and find the prettiest light.
We started their session at the Rexburg LDS Temple. It was a bit chilly and windy, but that’s pretty normal for Rexburg. We wanted to do sunset photos on the mountains. As we drove up the hill, a blizzard hit out of nowhere. In my car I was panicking. I didn’t know if I should stop and rethink of where to go, but we were also losing light fast and didn’t have time to go anywhere else. We kept on the course up the mountain. And while we did have a full on snow storm when we climbed out to the car, it cleared up and we had the most beautiful light.
Storms can bring the prettiest light. I love that these two trusted me and their session will probably always be a favorite of mine. I love the variety we were able to accomplish with the weather and they just happen to be a really great looking couple.
The Rexburg Temple is one of my favorite temples to shoot at. I love the Brigham Young University-Idaho gardens right next to it and they always seem to have a wheat field in front of it in the summer. It’s a very elegant looking temple. Mallory and Stephen had their wedding there the day after their formal session, with their reception and dance at The Atrium.
Be sure to check out this awesome formal session in Kelly Canyon which is really close to this location. Idaho offers so much variety!
