Engagements

Mormon Row in Grand Teton National Park is a historic area known for its picturesque old barns and stunning Teton Range backdrop and is perfect for any engagement, bridal, and family photo session. I loved meeting AP & Neha at Mormon Row next to the T.A. Moulton Barn to do an engagement session with the blue flowers and the gorgeous Teton mountains. Here’s how and when to visit:

How to Visit Mormon Row:

  1. Location: Mormon Row is located in the southeastern part of Grand Teton National Park, near Antelope Flats Road.
  2. Access: You can reach Mormon Row by car. It’s accessible via a dirt road (Antelope Flats Road) that intersects with Highway 191, about 12 miles north of the town of Jackson, Wyoming.
  3. Photography: The area is particularly popular among photographers due to its iconic barns and the scenic backdrop of the Teton Range. The most famous barn is the John Moulton Barn.
  4. Exploration: Apart from the barns, Mormon Row offers scenic views of the Teton Range, meadows, and wildlife viewing opportunities. Bison are often spotted in the area.
  5. Hiking: There are also hiking trails nearby, such as the Antelope Flats Trail, which offer additional exploration opportunities.

When to Visit:

  1. Best Time of Year: The best time to visit Mormon Row is during the summer months (June to August) when the weather is warm and the roads are generally clear. This is peak tourist season, so expect more visitors during this time. However, the park is huge and it is easy enough to find locations to get your beautiful photos done.
  2. Spring and Fall: Spring (April to May) and fall (September to October) can also be good times to visit. During these seasons, the crowds are thinner, and you can experience beautiful fall foliage in the autumn months. However, the road is closed early spring for Mormon Row and access to much of the park is limited.
  3. Winter: Winter (November to March) can be a magical time to visit if you enjoy snowy landscapes and a quieter atmosphere. However, access may be more challenging due to snow and road closures.
  4. Time of Day: For photography, early morning or late afternoon (golden hour) is ideal for capturing the barns and the Teton Range with beautiful lighting. We did Neha & AP photos late afternoon as they had dinner plans that evening.

Respect Nature and Property: Remember that Mormon Row is both a historic and natural area. Respect private property signs and wildlife, and practice Leave No Trace principles. By planning your visit to Mormon Row with these tips in mind, you can make the most of your time and capture memorable experiences in this beautiful part of Grand Teton National Park.
