A Private March Winter Wedding at Bentwood Inn | Meredith & Christopher in Jackson Hole
There’s something undeniably magical about a winter wedding in Jackson Hole—even in a year when winter decided to arrive a little differently. Meredith and Christopher’s intimate celebration at Bentwood Inn was proof that no matter the weather, Jackson Hole always shows up in its own unforgettable way.
Meredith and Christopher had been together for just a year when they decided to do something bold: travel to a place they had never been before and get married. The breathtaking valley of Jackson Hole, which stretches along Grand Teton National Park and includes the towns of Jackson and Wilson.
They chose Bentwood Inn, a cozy and elevated bed & breakfast tucked away in Wilson, just a short 15-minute drive from Jackson. Prioritizing intimacy and privacy, they rented out the entire inn for several days—transforming their wedding into a full experience with their closest family. Bentwood Inn has 4 acres of beautifully maintained green space, a large back deck for entertaining, dancing and lounging, close access to Grand Teton National Park, and delicious breakfasts prepared by an in-house chef.
With only nine guests present, this Jackson Hole elopement was everything Meredith envisioned: peaceful, personal, and deeply meaningful.
A Unique Winter Wedding in Jackson Hole
Typically, late March in Jackson Hole means deep snow and a true winter landscape. But this year was different. An unusually warm season meant that by March 21st, most of the snow at the inn had already melted.
Even so, Jackson didn’t disappoint.
The Bentwood Inn still delivered its signature charm—its front porch framed with rustic western details like wagon wheels, antique accents, and a garden just beginning to shift out of winter. And when it comes to wedding photography, one thing remains true: it is never the wrong decision to venture into Grand Teton.
A Quiet Morning and Emotional First Look
The morning of the wedding was calm and full of anticipation. Meredith spent the early hours getting ready alongside her mom, mother-in-law, and sisters, creating a space filled with laughter, support, and quiet excitement.
Her look was brought together flawlessly by talented makeup artist Cassie, one of my favorite artists to recommend in the area.
When Meredith stepped outside into the backyard of the inn for their first look, everything slowed down. Christopher turned to see her, and the moment unfolded in complete privacy—just the two of them. There were tears, smiles, and that unmistakable feeling that this was exactly how their day was meant to be.

Portraits in Grand Teton National Park
After their first look, we made a quick trip into Grand Teton National Park for portraits.
While the snow had melted at the inn, patches of it still covered the ground in the park—something Meredith had been hoping for. The mountains of the Tetons stood tall in the background, creating that iconic Jackson Hole wedding backdrop.
The wind? A little intense. But even with the gusts, we captured some incredibly beautiful moments—images that perfectly reflect a western winter wedding in Jackson Hole, with movement, texture, and the raw beauty of the landscape.

An Intimate Ceremony Back at Bentwood Inn
Back at the inn, Meredith and Christopher exchanged vows on the back patio in a ceremony that was simple, elegant, and deeply personal. It was a very quick ceremony which they wanted, but full of smiles and meaning.
A violinist played softly as they stood surrounded by their closest family. No distractions. No crowd. Just presence.
A Cozy Evening Celebration
The rest of the evening unfolded naturally—exactly how an intimate wedding should. They spent time walking the property, soaking in the mountain air, and capturing family photos. Heartfelt toasts were shared, and laughter.
Dinner was one of the highlights: an incredible steak meal prepared on-site by the Bentwood Inn, bringing everyone together around the table.
As night fell, they cut their cake and shared their first dance under the soft glow of patio lights—ending the day in the same quiet, intentional way it began.
