Grand Teton Jewish Elopement at The Wedding Tree: Michelle and Scott

Jewish Wedding at The Wedding Tree | Grand Teton National Park Elopement

There are some wedding days that feel almost surreal, where the emotions, scenery, and meaning behind the day all come together in a way that feels bigger than life. This intimate Jewish wedding at The Wedding Tree in Grand Teton National Park was exactly that.

With the towering Teton mountains rising behind them and their closest loved ones gathered nearby, this couple celebrated a deeply meaningful wedding day full of tradition, emotion, and breathtaking views. I absolutely loved Michelle and Scott’s energy. The sincere love they had for each other and the pure joy of the day. Michelle is the brightest ray of sunshine. It was a day of crying, laughing, dancing, and jumping in the lake for the hell of it.

Walking the Aisle Through the Tetons

The “aisle” wasn’t a traditional aisle at all but it was perfection with both Michelle and Scott crying seeing each other.

By the time she reached the clearing, both the bride and groom were already overwhelmed with emotion. Tears streamed down their faces as they saw each other, standing together with the dramatic peaks of the Tetons behind them.

At the ceremony site, the couple stood beneath a beautiful handmade chuppah, the traditional canopy used in Jewish wedding ceremonies to symbolize the home the couple will build together.

This chuppah was especially meaningful—it had been lovingly hand-sewn by the bride’s mother just for their wedding day. At one point during the ceremony, the bride kicked off her shoes and dug her toes into the dirt beneath her feet, grounding herself in the moment and the wild beauty of the Tetons surrounding them.

Sunset Adventures Around Grand Teton National Park

Later that evening, I met back up with the couple for sunset portraits around some of the most iconic locations in the park. Our first stop was Schwabacher Landing, one of the most breathtaking viewpoints in the Tetons. The sun was still pretty high, but the couple wanted time to take in the views, enjoy each other and get candid feeling photos. We “played.”

From there we headed to Cascade Canyon Turnout, where sweeping views of the jagged Teton peaks created the perfect dramatic backdrop for portraits. As the sun began to drop lower in the sky, the light softened and the mountains seemed to glow behind them.

Finally, we ended the evening at String Lake.

Ending the Day with the Biggest Adventure at String Lake

As the last light of the day faded over the Tetons, the couple decided to do something that perfectly captured the spirit of their entire wedding day.

Michelle and Scott ran straight into the icy glacier-fed water of String Lake.

Still in their wedding clothes, laughing and cheering, Michelle and Scott splashed into the cold lake together while the mountains towered around them. It was spontaneous, joyful, and completely unforgettable.

In many ways, it felt like the perfect ending—because the day had started the same way it ended: with adventure, emotion, and the willingness to fully embrace every moment.

And in a place as wild and beautiful as the Tetons, that kind of wedding day just feels right.
