I have had sooo many wonderful weddings over the years that I have been a wedding photographer. Each one holds a special place in my memory. I want to share each one on this blog, if I had nothing else to do but be on my computer all day and not being mom to three adorable kiddos. I’ve done weddings at barns, backyards, parks, mountaintops, and churches; but today’s wedding share takes place at one of my favorites: LaBelle Lake in Rigby, Idaho.
Kelby and Randy’s wedding definitely stands out in my memory though for so many reasons. Number one is that they are an incredible genuine, kind, and loving couple. Kelby tells how they met below and you have to read it! Kelby is a sucker for details like I am. It felt like I was being surprised all day by all the little things she planned. I adored it. And secondly, the vendors in her wedding knocked it out of the park. Me included. (Feeling self-conscious with the humble brag.) Haha.
LABELLE LAKE
I love LaBelle Lake in Rigby, Idaho as a wedding venue! Gorgeous, gorgeous, GORGEOUS!!! Let me tell you a little about it. The cabin is huge, 7,000 square feet, 6 bedrooms, huge kitchen, and large gathering areas. The bridal suite is spacious and has its own bathroom, bride room, and my favorite, a balcony that overlooks the beautiful lawn, lake, stream, and gardens. There is plenty of room for everyone to get ready.
I work with a lot of great makeup artists. Jaime Shippen is one of the finest in the area. She is thoughtful, personable, sweet, funny, and listens to concerns. She is very talented at enhancing every bride’s beauty. All while being super fun to hang out with too. I love listening to her stories. LaBelle Lake doesn’t lack for perfect areas to photograph. Right along the Snake River, they have views that are too die for. They now have a wedding location right on the banks, which I can not wait to photograph. But besides that, the beautiful grounds surrounding the lake give plenty of space. The lake has a bridge, paddle boats, canoes, and wildlife like ducks, goats, and fish.
Kelby and Randy had their wedding right out on the lawn. Despite the bright and warm day, people were able to relax in the shade of the trees and the large tent they set up for their reception.
Oh! We can’t forget about how cute this swing is! I love the gold and warmth of this ceremony. It was beautiful and peaceful. Such a wonderful ceremony and location.
ABOUT THE COUPLE AND A GLOWING REVIEW
From Kelby: “Randy and I met in 2010, at Boise State University. We had mutual friends and hung out with the same group of people. At first, we were just friends, he wanted to date me but I just wasn’t that into him, haha! He didn’t give up, (thankfully!) and about a year later we went on a few dates. We decided to officially start dating in July 2011. We dated all through college and after graduation in 2015 moved to Austin, Texas together. Randy proposed in Las Vegas on July 3, 2017. We started planning a wedding right away and decided on July 14, 2018. We started dating in July, got engaged in July, so we knew we wanted to be married in July. We were married at Labelle Lake in Rigby, Idaho.
It was a fantastic day and a lot of that was because of our awesome vendors. Kendra Handy did our photography, she was recommended to us by a highschool friend. She had done their wedding and I loved their pictures and I was so lucky she agreed to do mine! Not only did she take stunning pictures, but when I had a dress mishap, she helped us get a stain out of my dress as well! She is kind, caring, and made us feel comfortable as she took our pictures. We also had an amazing DJ, Chris Davis. He was fantastic. He made the whole process of music and sound easy peasy, and he had everyone dancing all night long! Our wedding day was a beautiful success thanks to these two people! They were by far, my favorite vendors we hired!”
Seriously, thank you Randy and Kelby for trusting me to be part of your special day. I truly feel honored. You’re kind words almost made me cry. I love being able to see people in love and making commitments to each other. It’s the most wonderful work.
And if you haven’t seen my glowing recommendations for Chris, he’s that good.
SUCH AN AMAZING DAY AT LABELLE LAKE WITH RANDY AND KELBY!!
