Stanley Idaho Wedding at Redfish Lake | J+L

One of my favorite places on earth for this sweet session

Weddings

I’ve traveled to China, Jamaica, and through Thailand. And though I have seen some breathtaking views, I would say Stanley, Idaho is still one of my favorite places on earth! I dream of shooting a wedding there some day, but Jessica and Leihm fulfilled one of my biggest desires last week. Every time I see a beautiful landscape I always say, “I want to put a bride and groom in front of that.” We’ve been camping at Redfish Lake close to Stanley for the last three years. And every year, I want to bring a bride and groom with me on all the hiking, biking, and lounging we do by the lake. Redfish Lake and Stanley, Idaho is one of the most stunning places to have a wedding. The sweeping views of the Sawtooth mountains rival the Grand Tetons in my opinion.

Jessica and Leihm are so incredibly sweet with each other. They are constantly laughing, kissing, and smiling at each other. I love seeing the simple love and excitement of new love just ready to get married and start a life together. Jessica and Leihm were willing to travel a couple of hours to meet me at Redfish Lake Lodge to start their session. They are an adventurous and easy to work with couple. I was excited to take them to all the locations I’ve been scouting out for years. Unfortunately, they hit some car trouble and were an hour later than we had planned meeting. I worked fast, and Stanley did its part in the views. While my husband changed their flat tire out on the highway, I took them around in our beat up pickup truck. Haha. I am still so thrilled with the images we captured for these two before the sun went down.

The first thing we did was get Jessica changing in our little popup camper into her classy wedding dress with flutter sleeves. Then we did a sweet first look. I love first looks. Though a dress and tux are just clothes, it’s the seeing each other as bride and groom, and getting ready for the commitment that you are preparing to make to each other. Leihm insisted that his tears were happy tears. They we went down to the North Shore at Redfish and did some bridals around the lake. There is a wildfire across the mountains and the Sawtooth mountains were atmospheric and pastel. And then for sunset we rushed up to a location that had sweeping views of the pines and mountains. I think the variety offered by the Sawtooth’s is astounding.

I’m so excited for your wedding Jessica and Leihm. Thank you for trusting me to capture your love.

And if anyone would like to have a Stanley, Idaho wedding hit me up! 😉
